Tis the Season For Giving Back--Mike Kendall

In todays economy people are struggling to survive while some are still living the good life. This couldnt be more evident than in the case of the GM and Ford CEO's going to ask for money from congress so their company could surveve. Each CEO took thier own private plane to Washington DC with the claim that they are all struggling financially. If they were struggling then why do they have a private plane? To make matters worse why do they all have thier own plane? for the cost of all their flights just from Detroit to DC far exceeds $50,000. That would be about a years salary of one of the thousands of employees that were laid of by the companies. What has really hurt our economy is the large wage gap there is between heads of compaines and thier employees. Corperations need to crack down on the lavish lifestyles some people in the company are living and start raising wages of the people doing all the grunt work.

  1. I believe Mike nailed this one right on the head. Could these CEO's not even carpool it on one jet? It seems absolutely ridiculous to burn all that fuel and money when they were going to ask for hundreds of millions to save their own hides. Clearly if they cut the spending on all the frivolous items they would be in a much better position. A first class seat on any airline is better. There needs to be a better system to keep corporate spending on lavish items at a minimum, and to help promote better business practices, especially in the times we are dealing with. All of these monies being used for items could be reinvested into the company, or provide a few salaries for a few more workers. They should most definitely cut down their inflated salaries, and not only keep more people on, but raise some of their wages as well
